Journal of Experimental Education

The Directory of Unpublished Experimental Mental Measures is a series of books that list experimental test instruments collected from trade journals in psychology, education, and sociology that appeared in thirty-seven journals between 1970 and 1985. Volumes 1-3, 4-5, Volume 6, and Volume 7 are designed to fill a need for reference tools in behavioral and social science research. The authors believe there is an ongoing need for directories such as these to enable researchers to determine what types of non-commercial experimental test instruments are currently in use. These references provide researchers with ready access to information about recently developed or recently used experimental measurement scales. The instruments are not evaluated, but the information given about each test should make it possible for researches contemplating the use of a particular instrument.

This directory identifies and describes noncommercial experimental mental measures from the fields of psychology, sociology, and education that have been devised by researchers and published in 36 top journals. Volume 8 lists tests published in the 1996-2000 issues of those journals. It fills an ongoing need for comprehensive information about noncommercial experiment test instruments are currently in use.
